I paint what attracts me visually, mostly organic forms that grow and water with its constant movement and changing light.  This leads to series where I build a theme such as the “Oceans and Waves” and “Tree Portraits” shown here, but change materials.  I’ll move through oil, acrylic inks, aquarelle sticks, natural pigments, charcoal and more, working on canvas, clay and wood panels and different papers to achieve different effects. 

Switching materials allows me to get more transparency, or a texture, or more fluid movement on a surface. My work remains representational but sometimes flirts with abstraction.
